Approve Joint Ordinance No. 9318/Resolution No.___.

 

Executive Summary:

On May 25, 2016, the Board of County Commissioners approved a text amendment to the Subdivision Regulations for Lawrence and the Unincorporated Areas of Douglas County, KS and the Zoning Regulations of the Unincorporated Territory of Douglas County to allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) with standards.  A joint ordinance/resolution for the changes made to the joint Subdivision Regulations was provided to the City Commission and adopted on second reading on August 9, 2016.  Due to County staffing issues, the joint ordinance/resolution was delayed in being provided to the County Commission. As a result, the date noted in the ordinance/resolution is no longer correct.  

 

The joint ordinance/resolution contains Ordinance no. 9318 which will repeal the previously adopted ordinance, Ordinance No. 9264, and provide an updated effective date. The revised joint ordinance/resolution has been scheduled for the December 14th Board of County Commissioners’ meeting, and this date has been added to the document.
