RE:	School Board Action Update regarding 826 Pennsylvania NRA Request

Last evening, the USD 497 Board of Education took action on the 826 NRA request.  The Board voted 6-0 (Kris Adair absent) to authorize school district participation in the NRA at a level of fifty percent (50%) for 10 years with the caveat that if the City Commission revisited its fifty percent (50%) participation level the Board would revisit its participation level. 

Staff would recommend that the issue be finalized this evening in the event that the City Commission wished to maintain City participation at fifty percent (50%), as approved last week.  Should the Commission wish to consider a different participation level, staff would recommend deferring the second reading of the ordinance adopting the plan in order to enable the School Board to revisit its participation. 

As a reminder, the County voted to set its participation at the eighty-five percent (85%)/10 year level.  Each taxing jurisdiction can decide its individual participation level, which will be reflected in the plan.
