Award Bid No. 1601 to M CON, LLC and authorize the City Manager to execute the construction contract in the amount of $525,285.00 for the Harper Street, 15^th Street to East Glenn Drive and 15^th Street, Prospect Avenue to Lindenwood Lane Waterline Replacement, Project UT1514.

Executive Summary:

The Harper Street, 15^th Street to East Glenn Drive and 15^th Street, Prospect Avenue to Lindenwood Lane Waterline Replacement includes the replacement of approximately 2,300 linear feet of 6” cast iron pipe from 1954 and 1,700 linear feet of 8” cast iron pipe from 1956 with 8” PVC waterline.  The project also includes valves, fittings, fire hydrants and other miscellaneous appurtenances for the waterline located along Harper and 15^th Street.  The project is scheduled to be completed by July 2017.

On September 20, 2014, City Commission set a bid date of October 11, 2016 for Bid No. 1601. Professional Engineering Consultants completed construction documents and it was advertised on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. Bids were opened on October 11, 2016 and the bids were read publicly aloud as follows:

Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) has reviewed the bids, qualifications, and current project commitments of the low bidder, M CON, LLC.  PEC recommends awarding the bid to M CON, LLC in the amount of $525,285.00.
