Executive Summary: |
The Citizen Participation Plan is a requirement of CDBG and HOME funding. The purpose of the plan is to encourage and insure full and proper citizen participation at all stages of the Consolidated Planning process and involve citizens in decisions that are made regarding the CDBG and HOME programs.
Based on new requirements set forth by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City is required to amend the Plan to contain language about citizen participation for the Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH), which staff will be working on throughout the next year and will be due to HUD in early November of 2017. The amended language adds additional participation requirements as well as provides a framework for procedures, roles, and policies to be followed in the development of the AFH. None of the original language last updated in 2012 has changed. |
