Set a bid date of October 25, 2016 for Bid No. B1635 for the 2017 Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals.
Executive Summary:		The Utilities Department uses large quantities of many varying chemicals in water and wastewater treatment processes, as well as at sanitary sewer lift stations. For many years, the Utilities Department has bid all chemicals for all processes at once in the fall for use during the next year. The Lawrence Utilities Department is requesting to set a bid date of October 25, 2016 to receive all chemical bids for all water and wastewater processes and lift stations. Bidding all chemicals at the same time generally has resulted in stable and predictable prices for the year. It also allows the suppliers to bid on all the chemicals on the list that they may handle and at a lower cost per unit bulk rate. The bid documents include the anticipated amount of each chemical predicted for 2017 for all plants and lift stations. All bids will be evaluated by City staff and awarded to the vendor(s) whose bid is considered to be most advantageous to the City, based on cost, specifications, and performance.
