RESOLUTION NO. 7170
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS, ADOPTING THE REVISED AND UPDATED MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL DEBRIS MANAGEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, in 2009, all jurisdictions within Douglas County, Kansas, adopted a Multi-jurisdictional Debris Management Plan;
WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency issued guidance requiring periodically the jurisdictions within Douglas County, Kansas, to revise and update the Multi-jurisdictional Debris Management Plan;
WHEREAS, Douglas County Emergency Management and the Public Works Departments of Douglas County, Kansas, the City of Lawrence, Kansas, the City of Baldwin City, Kansas, the City of Eudora, Kansas, and the City of Lecompton, Kansas, worked together to revise and update the Multi-jurisdictional Debris Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the revised and updated Multi-jurisdictional Debris Management Plan was submitted to and approved first by by the Kansas Division of Emergency Management and then by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which approval was granted May 23, 2016.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF CITY OF LAWRENCE, KANSAS:
Section 1. The Governing Body of the City of Lawrence hereby adopts the revised and updated Multi-jurisdictional Debris Management Plan. The revised and updated Multi-jurisdictional Debris Management Plan shall be implemented in the event of a disaster declaration in order to properly and efficiently deal with disaster debris operations in a manner that is consistent with Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines and to ensure that disaster debris operations are uniform within Douglas County, Kansas.
ADOPTED by the Governing Body of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, this 6th day of September, 2016.
