Approve the disposal of surplus vehicles utilizing Purple Wave Auctions. |

Executive Summary: |
Central Maintenance worked with Finance earlier this year to facilitate the disposal of surplus vehicles. This process yielded positive results and Central Maintenance Garage recommends the continuance of utilizing Purple Wave Auctions for our current vehicle disposal. Currently Purple Wave staff facilitates the entire process and requires very little additional time from City staff.
Our current list of vehicles meets or exceeds the criteria for replacement. These vehicles have been replaced by new units as part of a replacement cycle. These vehicles have been assessed by Central Maintenance and determined that they have no reassignment value within the fleet. Several of these units will have repair costs that will exceed the current value of the vehicle. |
