RE:	Set Bid Date for Bid No. B1632 – Purchase Sludge Distribution Piping Materials for the Wakarusa Wastewater Treatment Plant, City Project UT1304

Background

The Department of Utilities has been engaged in the construction project of the Wakarusa Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Conveyance Corridor. Utilities staff has been performing a substantial amount of work in order to significantly reduce engineering fees and construction costs associated with the project. Utilities field staff is purchasing and installing the sludge distribution piping.

Project Description

Utilities staff requests approval to set a bid date for sludge distribution piping for the Wakarusa WWTP. Sludge piping installation is scheduled to begin in November 2016. Utilities staff is coordinating this piping installation with adjacent work being performed by the Wakarusa WWTP’s general contractor, Garney Construction.

Project Funding

Purchase is funded from the UT1304 Wakarusa Wastewater Treatment Plant and Conveyance Corridor project which is included in the Department of Utilities CIP and Rate Plan.
