RE:	Parking meter signage

Background

On July 5, 2016, the City Commission adopted on first reading a change in overtime parking violation fines for downtown parking meters. The second reading is anticipated for July 12 and will be published as soon as possible in the Lawrence-Journal World to fulfill the legal obligation to advertise the ordinance. 

Staff has already begun working to consider changes to signage on the physical meter heads to ensure that the hours for parking enforcement is as clear as possible and provides necessary information to the public utilizing the meters.

We will provide a report back to the City Commission once we have more information to provide.
