Extension of Riverfront Plaza Lease

 

The City leases 6,486 square feet of office space from Riverfront, L.L.C. at One Riverfront Plaza, Suite 110, to house the Development Services Division of the Planning and Development Services Department.  That lease expires August 31, 2016. Staff recommends renewal at the current lease rate of $5,648.22/month (see attached amendment to the lease agreement) for an additional one year period.

 

The lease amendment allows for cancellation upon 30 days’ notice if the City leases additional space from Riverfont. City staff continues to evaluate opportunities to co-locate different divisions.  However, in the mean time staff recommends renewal of the lease at Riverfront Plaza through August 31, 2017, locking in the current lease rates.

 

ACTION

Authorize the City Manager to execute the Third Amendment to Commercial Lease Agreement with Riverfront Plaza, L.L.C., extending the lease of office space for the Development Services Division at One Riverfront Plaza, Suite 110, through August 31, 2017.
