Background
The Department of Utilities has been engaged in the construction project of the Wakarusa Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Conveyance Corridor. Utilities staff has been performing a substantial amount of work in order to significantly reduce engineering fees and construction costs associated with the project. Utilities staff is designing the automation, integration, and programming systems for the new facilities. The City is also benefiting from direct equipment and material acquisition for parts of the project, including lab equipment and operations instrumentation.
Project Description
Utilities staff requested approval to set a bid date for fourteen (14) new magnetic flow meters for the Wakarusa WWTP and Pump Station 10. This is a portion of the City-provided instruments to be installed by the contractor, Garney Construction, as stated in the construction contract.
Project Details
On May 17, 2016, the Commission set a bid date of June 7, 2016 for the project. Bids were opened on June 7, 2016 and were read publicly aloud as follows:
