RE:	Rollin’ Hog Leg Cook-Off: Special Event Permit SE-16-00193

Description

Rollin’ Hog Leg Cook-Off at 2420 Fairfield, June 18, 2016.  Application submitted by Jim Leonard, for Cole TS Lawrence Ks, LLC, property owner of record.

As a part of the Special Event permit review process, the site proposed to hold the event is evaluated for parking capacity during the scheduled event time.  The approved Site Plan (SP-9-50-10) on file shows parking for 84 cars are provided.  Eighty-four spaces are required per the approved Site Plan.  Approximately 27 spaces on the north edge of the parking lot will be utilized for the event.  The Special Event must be approved by the City Commission, since the event will reduce the available parking below the Development Code requirement.   In staff’s opinion, sufficient areas are available on the site to accommodate the store and event parking demand.

Staff Recommendation

Planning staff recommends approval of the Special Event Permit SE-16-00193 for Rollin’ Hog Leg Cook-Off at 2420 Fairfield on June 18, 2016.

Action

Approve SE-16-00193, if appropriate.
