RE:	Authorize the sole source purchase of one 10” fire series assembly meter from Midwest Meter, Inc. for a total purchase price of $18,149.00.

Background

The University of Kansas (KU) has submitted a water service application to the Department of Utilities requesting a new 10” water meter that will be the point of connection to the City waterline for a new KU waterline serving the proposed Integrated Science Building and Student Union to be constructed as part of the Central District Plan.

Project Description

Midwest Meter, Inc. is the supplier of water meters for the Department of Utilities. Staff has received a quote from Midwest Meter, Inc. for the total purchase price of a 10” fire series assembly meter.

Project Funding

Purchase will be funded from Utilities cash construction funds.

Action

Authorize the sole source purchase of one 10” fire series assembly meter from Midwest Meter, Inc. for a total purchase price of $18,149.00.
