RE:	Signs of Community Interest Request, Summer Food Program

Background

K-State Research & Extension-Douglas County is a sponsor of the Summer Food Program, which operates from June 6, 2016 through August 5, 2016, and has requested permission to place two temporary promotional banners on the Lawrence Public Library property at 707 Vermont Street.

The signs would be eight square feet in area (two feet by four feet) and would be mounted on stakes in green space, one each in the east and west yards of the Library along Vermont and Kentucky Streets.  The requested duration for signs to be displayed is Tuesday, May 31, 2016 through Friday, June 24, 2016.

Action

Approve as “signs of community interest” a request from K-State Research & Extension-Douglas County to place two banners at 707 Vermont Street, one each in the east and west yards, from May 31, 2016 through June 4, 2016.
