RE:	Amenities Update May 2016

For previous analysis and recommendations pertaining to amenities please see the Amenities Update from 09/14/15 and the Amenities Update from 02/01/16.

Activities related to bench installation:

November 2015 through January 2016 – Staff develop list of potential sites based on passenger boardings.  Each site was then evaluated for safety concerns including speed of traffic, nearby hazards, easements, lighting, level ground, accessibility, etc. Upon completion of safety evaluation staff performed a Title VI evaluation which looked at equity of distribution of federally funded amenities.

January thru April – Staff developed site plans for each site using GIS ArcMap. Final field inspections were performed to verify site plans. Near end of March, staff mailed Project Fact Sheets to property owners alerting them to possible work near their property. Staff coordinated with Parks & Recreation allow for a piggyback off of their existing concrete contract.  Site plans were provided to Parks and Recreation for pricing.

May – Parks & Recreation provided contractor site plans for pricing. Contractor provided pricing and a requisition was approved on May 11th. A notice to proceed will be forwarded to the Contractor for installation concrete pads. Installation of pads is anticipated by the end of May. Benches will be installed once pads have adequately cured which is expected by June 16^th. The locations are as follows:
