RE:	Award Bid No. B1611 – Replacement HVAC Units (2) for Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant

Background

The HVAC unit in the blower building and the HVAC unit in the excess flow pumping station of the Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant are aging and prone to breakdowns on a recurring basis, thereby compromising the climate-controlled environment needed for optimal equipment performance. As approved by the Commission, an April 12, 2016 bid date was set for Bid No. B1611 for replacement of these two aging HVAC units.

Bid Information

On April 12, 2016, the City received one bid proposal for Bid No. B1611. That bid is from Lippert Mechanical Service Corporation for a lump sum bid amount of $56,500.00.

Staff Recommendation

Lippert Mechanical has previously performed satisfactory work for the department on other equipment. On review, staff believes this bid proposal is reasonable. Staff recommends award of Bid No. B1611 to Lippert Mechanical.

Action

Award Bid No. B1611 to Lippert Mechanical Service Corporation in the amount of $56,500.00 for replacement  of two (2) HVAC units at the Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant.
