RE:	5/18/16 to 5/18/17 RENEWAL Professional Liability Law Enforcement Policy

Background

The City maintains a $1 million limit professional liability law enforcement policy including a $75,000 deductible with AIG/Lexington Insurance Company and utilizes the Hays Companies of Kansas City as our broker. 

Renewal Process

The broker solicited quotes from 10 carriers for our Law Enforcement Policy. In the 2016 renewal process, the City received only one quote.  The City’s broker advised we continue coverage with AIG for this renewal.  AIG is the leading carrier for this coverage.

The expiring premium for the 5/18/15 to 5/18/16 policy was $68,680.  The 5/18/16 to 5/18/17 policy renewal premium is $68,680, a 0% increase.

The City has been with AIG/ Lexington for five continuous policy periods.

Recommended Action

Staff recommends renewing coverage with AIG/Lexington for the Professional Liability Law Enforcement policy at the $68,680 premium amount for the 2016 to 2017 policy period.
