Background
The City Commission authorized funding for the Emerald Ash Borer program which included a staff truck to implement the program. Parks and Recreation also has 2016 budgeted funds for an additional replacement unit. Unit 525, a 2000 Chevrolet 1500, has been identified as a unit at the end of its useable life. This unit has met the city’s replacement criteria. The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep. Bids were sent as required by the city’s purchasing policy
Staff Recommendation
Central Maintenance Garage and Parks and Recreation staff recommend the purchase of two (2) half ton trucks from Laird Noller Ford following the one percent local purchasing policy. Bids were sent following the City’s purchasing policy.
