Background

The City Commission authorized funds for the replacement of Fire and Medical department equipment in the 2016 budget process.  Bids were sent as required by the city’s purchasing policy.  Unit 611, a 2001 Ford F250, has been identified as units at the end of it useable life.  Unit 611 is a supporting unit that provides trailer towing for multiple operational trailers. This unit has met the city’s replacement criteria. The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep.

 

Staff Recommendation

Central Maintenance Garage and Fire staff recommend the purchase of one (1) one ton truck from Laird Noller Ford.  Bids were sent following the City’s purchasing policy.  Only one bid was received.
