RE:	Set Bid Date for Bid No. B1611 – Replacement HVAC Units (2) for Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant

Background

A climate-controlled environment is critical to ongoing functionality of the variable frequency drives attached to pump and blower equipment installed at the Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant (Kansas WWTP). Staff has installed HVAC units throughout the plant proximate to VFDs to prevent overheating and ensure VFD reliability.

Project Description

The HVAC units installed in the blower building and in the excess flow pumping station of the Kansas River WWTP are aging and prone to breakdowns on a recurring basis, thereby compromising the climate-controlled environment needed for optimal equipment performance. Staff requests approval to set a bid date for replacement of these two aging HVAC units.

Project Funding

Purchase will be funded from the Utilities Operations and Maintenance Budget.

Action

Set a bid date of April 12, 2016, for Bid No. B1611 – Replacement HVAC Units (2) for the Kansas River Wastewater Treatment Plant.
