RE:	Signs of Community Interest Request, Lawrence Busker Festival 2016

Background

Richard Renner, Lawrence Busker Festival has requested permission to display temporary event signs to promote Lawrence Busker Festival 2016 on the weekend of May27 -29, 2016.  The sign graphics would include the message “Lawrence Busker Festival, Fri-Sun May 27-29, THREE DAYS OF STREET PERFORMERS IN DOWNTOWN LAWRENCE, LAWRENCEBUSKERFEST.COM” The signs would be located at four intersections:

• Southeast corner 6^th and Tennessee St.
• Northwest corner 23^rd and Massachusetts St.
• Southeast corner 2^nd and Massachusetts St.
• Northeast corner 6^th and Wakarusa St.

The proposed signs are 48” x 72” in size with 72” fence posts to secure them in the ground.  The signs would be set out Sunday May 1 and removed Sunday, May 29, 2016. 

Action

Approve as “Signs of Community Interest”, a request from Lawrence Busker Festival to place temporary signs at various locations May 1 to May 29, 2016.
