RE:	Bid recommendation – 2016 Master Street Tree Project

In October 2015, the Parks and Recreation Department received written quotes for a project to purchase and install by contract 156 trees for the 2015 Master Street Tree Program.   American Lawn and Landscape provided the lowest quote for the project at an average cost of $310.00 per tree (cost varies slightly per species) for a 2” caliper B&B tree.

Using the written quotes provided, a current cost to plant an additional 68 trees is $20,940.00.  

The work would start immediately using inventory of trees dug in the spring of 2016.

Funding for this project comes from the fees collected during the building permit process.

Recommendation Action:

Award the purchase and installation of 68 street trees from the Parks & Recreation Department to American Lawn and Landscape at a total price of  $20,940.00
