RE:	Purchase of John Deere 4066R Tractor

Description

The City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department requests Commission approval to replace a 1994 and 1998 tractors that are used in Park District #1. These units will be replaced with a new tractor that will be used daily to maintain athletic fields and parks.

Funding

This tractor will be purchased using pricing from a cooperative purchasing agreement with the State of Kansas (Piggy-Back 4425-5) which would result in a total purchase price of $47,317.48. This price includes the trade-in of two tractors unit #518 and #5504. Funds are available for this purchase in the 216 Special Recreation Fund.

Action Request

Authorize the Parks and Recreation Department to purchase a John Deere 4066R tractor for $47,317.48 from the Deere & Company.
