RE:	Donation to Affordable Housing Trust Fund

As outlined in the attached letter, the First Baptist Church is offering a donation to the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.  According to Ordinance No. 9129, the Affordable Housing Advisory Board shall not “accept any gift or donation without prior approval of the Governing Body.”  Therefore, staff is seeking acceptance of the donation by the City Commission. 

The donation is undesignated beyond the general purposes as recommended by the Affordable Housing Advisory Board.  By accepting the donation, the City Commission is authorizing staff to deposit the funds into the fund to be used according to the purpose of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, which is to support the acquisition, rehabilitation, and development of affordable housing and supportive services so that all persons in the community have access to independent living with dignity. 

Action Requested

Staff recommends the City Commission accept the donation from First Baptist Church, in the amount of $1,024, to be deposited in the Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
