Safe Routes to School Phase 1 Funding Agreement |
Project Description
In November 2014, the City of Lawrence's Safe Routes to School Phase One application was accepted. This included $15,000 for consulting, curriculum, and printing costs and eligibility to apply for additional funds as part of Safe Routes to School Phase 2. Phase 1 deliverables included collecting student travel data, parent surveys, and creating safe route maps for Lawrence public elementary and middle schools. This was completed by the Lawrence School District, Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, and City staff. The City of Lawrence has applied for Safe Routes to School Phase 2 funds to construct sidewalk and provide additional traffic control at school crossings.
During this process no money was spent on costs eligible for reimbursement. The Kansas Department of Transportation has requested the Mayors signature to cancel the agreement to reimburse funds for Safe Routes to School Phase 1.
Action
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Cancellation of Agreement No. 3-15, canceling the agreement to reimburse funds for Safe Routes to School Phase 1.
