Backhoe Replacement

 

Description

The Parks and Recreation Department requests City Commission approval to replace a 2002 backhoe that is used to maintain our City parks and cemeteries. The new unit will primarily be used to dig graves at the three (3) City owned cemeteries.  

 

Funding

The backhoe will be purchased using pricing from a NJPA cooperative purchasing contract which would result in a total purchase price of $70,987. This price includes the trade-in of an old backhoe (unit #593). Funds are available for this purchase in the Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund and the Special Recreation Fund.

 

Action Request

Authorize the Parks & Recreation Department to purchase a JCB 3CX Compact Backhoe for $70,987 from Sellers Equipment.
