RE:	Employment Agreement for City Manager

Attached, please find the proposed Employment Agreement for Thomas M. Markus. 

It provides for an annual base salary of $190,000, an annual automobile allowance of $6,000, a deferred compensation contribution on behalf of Mr. Markus in the amount of $15,000 in the first year, reimbursement for moving-related expenses, and other fringe benefits including benefits available to other City employees.  If the agreement is approved by the City Commission, Mr. Markus anticipates starting his employment with the City the week of March 21^st. 

Action Requested:

Authorize the Mayor to execute the Employment Agreement with Thomas M. Markus to employ him as the City Manager, if appropriate.
