RE:	2016 Vehicle Purchase

The Police Department has requested bids for one (1) Transit Van to replace unit 141, 1999 Ford F250, currently assigned to the Patrol Division as the prisoner transport van (Bid 1563).  The prisoner transport van is being replaced due to age and functionality of the prisoner partitions. The van is being purchased with necessary prisoner partitions and lighting.  

Two bids were received.  Both bidders meet specifications and the local preference ordinance does not apply.  Laird Noller’s bid is not within one percent of the Shawnee Mission bid.

Laird Noller Ford One (1) Prisoner Transport Van	$44,906.00
Shawnee Mission Ford One (1) Prisoner Transport Van	$43,813.00

Funding:

Funding has been approved in the 2016 budget process.

Action Request

Award City Bid No. B1563: One (1) 2016 Ford Transit Prisoner Transport Van to Shawnee Mission Ford for $43,813.00.
