Purchase two (2) Utilities crew trucks per Bid No. B1557 Extension

 

Background

Vehicle units #256 (2005 Dodge 1500) and #267 (2002 Ford F150) have exceeded their usable life cycle and been identified by Central Maintenance for replacement under current guidelines. These units support a variety of Utilities Department field operations activities, including customer service calls, water leak repairs, service installs, distribution flushing and utility locates. 

 

Project Description

On November 17, 2015, Central Maintenance received bids for current production model 4x4 pickup trucks for another City department per Bid No. B1557. Bid specifications are equally applicable to the two identified Utilities’ crew trucks needing replacement. The bid differential is within the City’s one-percent (1%) local preference policy.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommends purchase of the two (2) replacement crew trucks from Laird Noller Ford via an extension of Bid No.B1557.

 

Funding

Funding for this purchase is from the 2015 Utilities Operations and Maintenance Budget.

 

Action

Authorize the purchase of two (2) 4 x 4 pickup trucks from Laird Noller Ford for the total amount of $45,118 via an extension of Bid No. B1557.
