RE:	Hy-Vee 6^th Street Wall Damages Claim

Background

On March 9, 2015 a City solid waste truck damaged the back wall of the Hy-Vee on 6^th Street.  Following an investigation by Risk Management, it was determined the City was negligent and caused the damages. The Solid Waste Division performed a safety investigation of the event and reviewed those results with the driver.  

Staff Recommendation

Risk Management negotiated and reduced damages to the store wall with Hy-Vee and recommends a final settlement of $21,671.94.

Action

Authorize the payment of $21,671.94 to Hy-Vee, Inc. for the Solid Waste claim dated March 9, 2015.
