RE:	Traffic Safety Commission, Traffic Control (Yield Sign) on Bauer Lane at Bauer Farm Drive

Background

At the October 5, 2015 Traffic Safety Commission meeting, the Commission heard a request to establish TRAFFIC CONTROL on Bauer Lane at Bauer Farm Drive. The intersection of Bauer Lane and Bauer Farm Drive is a “T” intersection; however, the commercial property on the north side of the street constructed a driveway at the intersection directly in-line with Bauer Lane.  There have not been any reported crashes at the intersection; however, recessed angle-parking on the southwest corner of the intersection restricts the sight distance of northbound traffic.

Traffic Safety Commission Action

At the Traffic Safety Commission meeting, no members of the public addressed the Commission. One Commissioner familiar with intersection stated that he supported the request. The Commission, on a unanimous vote of 8-0, recommended establishing a YIELD sign on Bauer Lane at Bauer Farm Drive.

Action Request

It is recommended that the City Commission concur with the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission to establish a YIELD sign on Bauer Lane at Bauer Farm Drive.
