RE:	USD 497 License Agreement

Background

USD 497 owns that real property upon which Pinckney Elementary School is located. Many Pinckney students walk to school and cross 6th Street by means of the 6th Street tunnel, which is located under the street. The tunnel is located in the City's 6th Street Right of Way and is maintained by the City. For the safety of its students and others using the tunnel, USD 497 wishes to install a surveillance camera in the tunnel. The monitor would be located in Pinckney Elementary School. To accomplish that goal, City staff and USD 497 have reached a tentative agreement on the terms of a License Agreement. According to the terms of the License Agreement, USD 497 will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining the surveillance camera and other equipment and the City will be responsible for installing the camera in the tunnel. As a result of this arrangement, there will be no cost -- other than the cost of installing the camera -- accruing to the City.

Action

Authorize the Interim City Manager to execute a License Agreement permitting USD 497, for the safety of its students and others using the 6th Street tunnel, to purchase a surveillance camera for City installation in the 6th Street tunnel.
