Kansas Department of Transportation Commitment of City Funds form for the Breezedale Monuments Restoration Transportation Enhancement Grant

 

Background

In June 2013, the City was notified by the Kansas Department of Transportation that the TE project for the restoration of the Breezedale Monuments was authorized for TE funding. The City Commission, on December 10, 2013, authorized the Mayor to sign the City/State agreement for the Transportation Enhancement project for the Breezedale Monuments Restoration. A supplemental agreement was authorized by the City Commission on August 18, 2014.

 

Project Description

This project will remove, repair, and reinstall the metal sculptures, repair and restore the masonry and bench, and replace the lettering on the historic Breezedale monuments located at 23rd Street and Massachusetts Street.

Kansas Department of Transportation Form

The next step in the process for the Transportation Enhancement project is to sign the Authority to Award Contract Commitment of City Funds form.

 

 

Action

Authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary Kansas Department of Transportation form to commit City funds in the amount of $24,300 for the Breezedale Monument Restoration Project.
