Background and survey results

Per your request, staff gathered information regarding start time and frequency of various governing body meetings in the area. Please note that some governing bodies have regularly scheduled Study or Work Sessions.

Organization	Meeting Day	Frequency	Time	Note: Study or Work Sessions
Douglas County	Wednesday	Every Wednesday	4:00 PM and 6:35 PM	The Douglas County Commission meets regularly two times on Wednesdays at 4:00 PM (Administrative Items) and 6:35 PM (Public Interest Items).
Lawrence	Tuesday	Every Tuesday except the 5th Tuesday of the month	6:35 PM	Study or Work Sessions are held as needed.
Lenexa	Tuesday	1st and 3rd	7:00 PM	Committee of the Whole meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM.
Manhattan	Tuesday	1st and 3rd	7:00 PM	Work Sessions at 5:00 PM every 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Joint City/ County meeting every third Thursday at 4:00 PM.  Briefing held at 5:30 PM before legislative sessions.
Olathe	Tuesday	1st and 3rd	7:00 PM	Study or Work Sessions are held at Tuesdays at 5:30 or 6:30 PM on as needed basis.
Overland Park	Monday	1st and 3rd	7:30 PM	Committee of the Whole meetings are called periodically for special topics and include the City Council and mayor. The meetings are usually held before the City Council meeting at 6:00 or 6:30 PM.
Topeka	Tuesday	1st, 2nd and 3rd	6:00 PM	Executive Sessions are sometimes held at the end of City Commission meeting.
