RE:	City Manager’s Report 3/11/2014 – 6^th Annual Stakeholder’s meeting – Public Works

The Public Works Department held its 6^th annual stakeholders meeting on February 28.

This is an opportunity each year to get the stakeholders that work with the Public Works Department together to discuss the past year, the upcoming construction year, grow our partnership and to provide training on new city items.

This year was another successful meeting that included: updates on the pavement maintenance program progress, review of the overall pavement condition index (PCI) and deterioration rates, changes to the City of Lawrence combined specification and standard detail books, an update on the changes to pedestrian traffic control in work zones, 2014 construction schedule (see attached), an update on how Public Works will advertise and distribute plans and specification on projects through an electronic “plan room.”

The Utilities Department gave an update on their 2014 projects as well as a general discussion of their specifications.

We ended the meeting with a general discussion with the group.

We look forward each year to getting together with our partners and will continue this meeting for years to come.
