1.0       Purpose

 

City Code Section 17-410.30 provides that the City Commission or City Manager may determine that the provisions of Section 17-410.30 prohibiting certain parking in the front or side yard setback areas shall not be enforced for a specified location or locations for a period not to exceed twenty-four hours. The purpose of this section is to codify the City Commission’s direction that the provisions of Section 17-410.30 will not be enforced in certain specified locations on days when the University of Kansas has a home football game.

 

2.0       Policy

 

The provisions of Section 17-410.30 will not be enforced at the following locations on days when the University of Kansas has a home football game:

 

(a)       The Oread Neighbhorhood (bordered by 9th Street, West Campus Road, Tennessee Street, and 14th Street); approved by the City Commission on August 18, 1992;

 

(b)       1649 Edgehill Road;

 

(c)        746 Mississippi Street; approved by the City Commission on October 6, 2009.     

 

3.0       Procedure

 

Amendments to this policy will be considered by the City Commission or City Manager on a case by case basis as requested.
