At the May 7, 2013, City Commission meeting, a memo dated April 24, 2013, was included on the City Manager’s report. The memo identified numerous properties that the Code Enforcement Division had identified as difficult to resolve. Since that meeting, three of those properties have been removed from the list for the reasons identified below. No properties have been added to the list.
Latest Development: The sale of the home is final. New owner has obtained building permit and the house is in the process of being rehabilitated. Staff anticipates the project will be completed within a month.
Latest Development: The new owner has obtained a building permit to rehabilitate the property.
Latest Development: The front and both sides of house are now sided.
The following two properties were also identified in the April 24, 2013 memo and continue to be monitored. An update detailing the latest actions taken is provided.
Latest Development: Staff met the owner at the property on August 26, 2013 to discuss the lack of progress regarding establishing a plan to sell or rehabilitate the house. Staff gave the owner a deadline of September 9, 2013 to obtain a building permit. If a building permit is not received, staff will proceed with declaring the structure unsafe and begin the process for demolition as outlined in city code.
Latest Development: Legal Services is in the process of completing the steps to acquire the property through eminent domain.
