07/16/13

·         City note sale and approvals.

 

·         Approve a Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit allowing the closure of the 100 block of E 8th Street from 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013, to 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013 for the Sandbar Birthday Party, and adopt on first reading Ordinance No. 8884, allowing the possession and consumption of alcohol on the 100 block of E 8th Street during the event.    Staff Memo & Attachments

 

·         Consider authorizing the Mayor to execute the revised Development Agreement for the Rock Chalk Park development and consider authorizing staff to execute all other necessary documents and items related to the document.  Staff Memo & Attachments

 

ACTION:      Authorize the Mayor to execute the revised Development Agreement, authorize the payment for the property acquisition in the amount of $784,050 and authorize staff to execute all other necessary documents and items related to the development, if appropriate.

·         Public hearing regarding distance limitation waiver for liquor permit for Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championship in South Park.

·         Adopt budget ordinance on second and final reading.

·         Second and final reading of Ordinance No. 8856, ordering through the exercise of eminent domain the condemnation of fee simple title to private property interests commonly located at 1106 Rhode Island Street, and authorizing the filing of a petition in Douglas County District Court (the ordinance was adopted on first reading on May 7, 2013).

 

·         Discuss results of EPA study of parking in the Oread Neighborhood.   Staff Memo & Attachments

 

·         Authorize the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Intent with Douglas County and the University of Kansas regarding the New Cities Initiative.
