2013 Public Works Construction Update

2013 Construction season is continuing and project updates are below.

Iowa Reconstruction -Irving Hill Road to south of Harvard Rd.

Phase two of construction on Iowa began May 20th when the intersection of Iowa & BBP/15th St. was closed to turning traffic.  The contractor is working on reconstruction of both the intersection and the approach legs of BBP and 15th Street; Phase two has a completion date of August 16th.  Despite rain events, the contractor has removed existing pavement, rough graded, and is working on installing storm sewer and waterline prior to pavement construction. The project completion date is November 16, 2013.

Wakarusa Reconstruction - Research Parkway to Oread West

Wakarusa Drive Reconstruction started May 20th.  Phase one, the reconstruction of Wakarusa Drive to the south of Bob Billings Parkway to Research Park Way, is currently under underway with the removal of asphalt pavement.  Storm sewer work will begin next week.  The project is on schedule for its August 30th completion date.

Bob Billings Parkway - Kasold to the Iowa project limits

The Bob Billings Parkway project broke ground on Monday, May 20th. The project is currently in Phase one of construction. Traffic has been shifted to the north lanes on Bob Billings with one lane of traffic traveling in each direction. New waterline installation has begun on the west end of the project near Kasold Drive and full depth pavement removal has started on the east end of the project. Pavement removal is near complete for westbound lanes from Crestline Drive to the Iowa project. Rain has slowed progress, but project is still on track to meet the completion date of August 16, 2013.
