SALE OF VEHICLES

The Central Maintenance Garage has five vehicles we wish to sell on Gov Deals.  Unit 376, a 1979 International oil distributor truck, has reached the end of service life and was replaced with a newer unit. The second unit is a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 crew truck number 401, with 112,000 miles that needs a $2000 transmission. The third vehicle is a 2009 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. This unit has accumulated 110,000 miles of use with an additional 221,000 miles of engine use. The fourth vehicle is Unit 609, a 1998 Ford Taurus with severe rust where the subframe attaches to the body The fifth vehicle is Unit 859, a 1998 F-150 that also needs $2000 worth of transmission work.  The additional work needed on the vehicles exceeds their value and the criteria for replacement.  We request City Commission approval to sell the vehicles on Gov Deals as we have done in the past.

Recommendation Action: 

Approve sale of vehicles on Gov Deals.
