RE:

30-Day Public Comment Period for the Transportation 2040 (T2040) – Lawrence - Douglas County Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) - Update to Transportation 2030

The Lawrence Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has officially begun a 30-day public comment/review period for its draft Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) Transportation 2040. A public meeting to address the draft T2040 document has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Lawrence Union Pacific Depot Visitors Center; 402 N. 2nd St. Lawrence, Kansas from 4:30-7:30pm.

T2040 is a blueprint to guide the Lawrence-Douglas County Area’s transportation development over the next 28 years. T2040 will represent the best attempts by citizens, governing bodies, planners and transportation experts to develop a vision for a healthy, safe, and efficient transportation system which will adequately serve Lawrence and all of Douglas County to the year 2040.

The official 30-day public comment period for T2040 started on February 15, 2013 and will end on March 16, 2013. Comments received on or before March 16, 2013 will be considered for the final document, to be presented to the Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Policy Board for approval at their March 21, 2013 regular meeting.
