The minutes for the October meeting were approved.

NEW BUSINESS:  Grace reported for the Percent for Art Committee.  They have chosen an artist for the Library project.  Dierk Van Keppel was the strongest candidate.  Grace spoke about the process and Van Keppel's qualifications.  He has experience working with architects and creating large public projects.  Grace moved that the LCAC recommend Dierk Van Keppel to the City Commission as the selected artist for the Library Percent Project.  Patrick seconded, the motion passed unanimously.

LAWRENCE ARTS CENTER  :  Susan Tate presented a letter asking the City Commission to fund a portion of the Final Friday coordinator position.  She asked for LCAC support.  Kathy moved that the LCAC endorse the Arts Center's request of $3600 in support of the position.  Richard seconded, the motion passed unanimously.

Susan also announced that the LAC will be submitting the NEA "Our Town" grant this year.  Only one city entity can apply each year and the application requires a letter of support from the mayor or City Commission.  In addition, she would like the city to fund the grant writer's wages for this application based on the idea that it will financially benefit the city, should the LAC succeed in its request.  Discussion of the economic impact of the arts continued.  Kathy moved that the LCAC make a recommendation for the City Commission to endorse the LAC as a partner for the NEA "Our Town" grant.  Richard seconded, the motion passed unanimously.

ODSE:  No report.  The committee is going to push their calendar back a month and meet with Diane about their timeline.

ART MAINTENANCE:  Kathy and Katherine toured the city's public art to photograph and assess its condition.  They are working on a plan to create a database and maintenance program for current and future city owned art.  Emily added that the Parks and Rec department would really appreciate this.  Discussion about the database included how to record the info and what info should be included.  Katherine will be the liaison to the city and the "City Owned Art Maintenance Committee" chair person.  The committee will also include Grace, Richard, and Kathy.

Kathy suggested that we eliminate the Art Sustainability Task Force and revisit it after the LCAC can asses its goals and vision for the future.

We will have our retreat on February 2nd, 9-12.

PHOENIX AWARDS:  Mandy reported that the Phoenix Awards ceremony was a great success.

The meeting adjourned.
