RE:	CDBG Shared-Use path/Sidewalk project Iowa and 6th

The attached concept drawing shows the upcoming shared-use path/sidewalk project funded by CDBG funds (total funds allocated: $167,000).

The proposed shared-use path /sidewalk runs along the east side of Iowa street starting north of Harvard Road and then continuing north along the east side of Iowa, then along the east side of McDonald Drive for some distance and then turns in a northeasterly direction making a connection to West 6^th street and West 7^th Street.

Between Harvard and 9^th, the width will be 5 to 6 feet, and the remainder of this path will be 8 to 10 feet wide depending on topography.

This project has been presented to the Bicycle Advisory Committee – BAC is supportive of this project. It is currently in the design phase (in-house design by Engineering Staff) and is scheduled for construction in 2012.
