Award Bid No. B1152; Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals for 2012 to the bidders marked by a triple asterisk (***) on the attached bid summary.

 

Project History/Status

Utilities Department requested bids for water and wastewater chemicals for 2012. Bids were opened on November 8, 2011 and evaluated by City staff. The bid summary is attached with the recommended bid marked by a triple asterisk (***). The recommended bids are based on the low bid that met the chemical specifications and included shipping. The low bid for Clinton polymer, Calgon Carbon, phosphate solution, Tramfloc, and sodium bisulfite at the Treatment plants did not meet the required chemical or shipping specifications.

 

Attached is a comparison of chemical use from 2009 to October 2010 and unit prices for 2012.

 

Project Funding: 

The chemicals will be funded from water, wastewater and collection system 2012 Operations and Maintenance Budget.

 

Action Request:  Staff recommends approval of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals for 2012 to the bidders marked by a triple asterisk (***) on the attached bid summary.
