On November 22, 2011 the City of Lawrence opened bids for the following:  

Bid#1154 –  One (1) Hybrid Aerial Lift Truck– Public Works Department, Traffic Engineering Division

Traffic Engineering requested bids to replace unit 982 a fourteen year old aerial lift truck used to repair traffic signals. Specifications were written for a replacement truck with a hybrid lift system to reduce fuel usage while the unit is servicing traffic signals. This unit will operate the aerial device for up to forty-five minutes without the truck engine running. The bids received are shown below. Prices include the trade-in value offered by the bidder.

Funding for this purchase was approved in the 2011 operating budget.

The low bid meets specifications, and the trade-in offer from that vendor was $3,000.00. This price seems to be consistent with sale prices for this type of equipment on Gov Deals and Purple Wave.
