The items listed below are planned for future agendas.  I have listed the date of items as they are known.  Dates are subject to change. 

 

11/22/11

·         Commission Meeting will start at 9:00 a.m.  This meeting is planned to be short.

 

·         Adopt on second and final reading, Ordinance No. 8673, for Rezoning (Z-7-21-11) approximately 3.3 acres from RSO (Single-Dwelling Residential-Office) to CN2 (Neighborhood Shopping Center), located at 3900 W. 24th Place. (PC Item 3A; approved 9-0 on 9/26/11) (This ordinance was adopted on first reading on October 18, 2011).

 

·         Adopt on second and final reading, Ordinance No. 8674, for Special Use Permit (SUP-7-4-11) for Gas and Fuel sales, also known as a convenience store, with a carwash and office building on approximately 3.3 acres of vacant property located at 3900 W 24th Place.  (PC Item 3C; approved 9-0 on 9/26/11)  (This ordinance was adopted on first reading on October 18, 2011).

·         Consider text amendments, TA-8-12-11, to various sections of the City of Lawrence Land Development Code, Chapter 20, regarding revisions to the district criteria and development standards for development adjacent to R (Residential) Districts, clarify other density and dimensional standards, Section 20-1701 to clarify or add terms used in the density and dimensional standards table, and Sections 20-211 and 20-212 to make consistent with potential changes in Article 6. Initiated by City Commission on 7/12/11. Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8682, for Text Amendment (TA-8-12-11) to various sections of the City of Lawrence Land Development Code, Chapter 20, regarding revisions to the district criteria and development standards for development adjacent to R (Residential) Districts, clarify other density and dimensional standards, Section 20-1701 to clarify or add terms used in the density and dimensional standards table, and Sections 20-211 and 20-212 to make consistent with potential changes in Article 6. ·         Consider the following determinations by the Historic Resources Commission concerning the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street:   Staff Report   Location Map   Elevations   Drawings   Plan   Shading Correspondence (updated 11/14/11) 

 

a)     Consider making a determination based on a consideration of all relevant factors that there is/is not a feasible and prudent alternative to the proposed project at 900 New Hampshire Street and the that the proposed project includes/does not include all possible planning to minimize harm to the listed properties. The Historic Resources Commission determined (6-0) on October 27, 2011 that this project will encroach upon, damage or destroy the listed historic properties and their environs.

 

b)     Consider an appeal of the HRC determination that the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street does not meet the intent of the Downtown Design Guidelines. The HRC determined (6-0) on October 27, 2011 that this project does not meet the intent of the Downtown Design Guidelines.

 

c)      Consider an appeal of the HRC determination to deny a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street.  The HRC determined (6-0) on October 27, 2011 that this project will encroach upon, damage or destroy the listed historic properties and their environs.

ACTION:     

A)   Make a determination based on a consideration of all relevant factors that there is a feasible and prudent alternative to the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street and that the proposed project does not include all possible planning to minimize harm to the listed property, if appropriate.

B)   Determine whether the proposed project meets the adopted Downtown Design Guidelines.

C)   Uphold the determination of the HRC or issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for the project.

·         Text amendment regarding the use of synthetic turf as landscaping material.

 

·         Review proposed 2012 State Legislative Statement, including provisions urging funding of SRS Lawrence office, Congressional redistricting issues, and other issues for the 2012 Kansas legislative session.

 

·         Consider approving installation of tennis court lights proposed with SUP-7-6-08 as part of the athletic field improvements constructed at the Centennial School site, 2145 Louisiana Street. The installation of outdoor lights was approved subject to approval of a photometric plan.   Deferral Notice
