The Building Safety Division issued 218 building permits in September, with total construction for the month valued at $33,194,510. Total permit fees assessed for the month were $164,554. Monthly and year to date comparisons to previous years will be tracked throughout 2011 in the following table:

Staff issued 13 permits for new residential construction in September, including nine apartment buildings with 300 dwelling units, and four for new single-family dwellings. Permits were issued for 32 new residential projects in September last year, including one multi-family building with 124 units, thirty single-family dwellings and one duplex. Monthly and year-to-date statistics for total permits issued and new residential projects will be tracked in the following table, similar to permit valuation and fees:

The highest valued project for the month is for the Hunter’s Ridge Apartment Complex at 550 Stoneridge Drive. This project includes 26 permits for apartment buildings, clubhouse and offices, maintenance buildings, and parking structures with total construction value of $28,577,625.
Two permits were issued for public projects, both at 1700 Massachusetts Street for repairs to HVAC systems with total value of $5,000.
Other projects of note include a “shell” only permit (does not include tenant improvements) for the Treanor Architects office renovation at 1040 Vermont Street, valued at $825,000; a new Burger King at 4671 Bauer Farm Drive valued at $450,000; and a permit for structural repairs only to the Poehler Building at 619 E. 8th Street valued at $400,000.
