2012 Eagle Bend Fees

We recommend an adjustment in the fee schedule in 2012 for Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center.
The golf industry has been very unpredictable the past few years. Besides the current recession, there has been an increase in the number of golf courses built in the area, providing more options for individuals and groups.
To ensure Eagle Bend is the most cost-effective, well-maintained golf course, we continuously evaluate it in all facets. We understand it is a source of pride for the community and want to maintain it as a public asset.
In our on-going evaluation, we compare Eagle Bend against surrounding golf courses in not only course condition, services offered, etc., but also in a comparison of fees. The comparison includes review of rates at other courses in Lawrence, Topeka and the Kansas City area.
Additionally, staff has reviewed the recommended fees in light of the proposed User Fee Policy and provides the attached analysis of that review.
