RE:               Asphalt for resurfacing at Broken Arrow Park  

Please include the following item on the City Commission agenda for consideration at the September 20th, 2011, meeting:

Authorize the City Manager to sign purchase orders not to exceed $21,000 for asphalt used to resurface the parking lot and road at Broken Arrow Park.

Project Description

Over the past month, the City of Public Works Department has been working on repairing the road base and resurfacing the roads and parking lots at Broken Arrow Park. This work has been scheduled as time allowed between other road projects. Asphalt needed for these projects has been picked-up from local asphalt plants, as work has progressed, and purchased based on price per ton bids received earlier in the year.

Project Funding

The projects were estimated to cost $13,000 for the parking lot and $8000 for the road.   Funding for this project is proposed to come from the Sales Tax Reserve Fund.

Action Request

Authorize the City Manager to sign purchase orders not to exceed $21,000, from the Sales Tax Reserve Fund, for asphalt used to resurface the parking lots and roads at Broken Arrow Park.
