Please include the following item on the City Commission consent agenda for consideration at the August 16, 2011 meeting:

 

 

Project Description/History.  The 2011 Overlay Program Phase 1 was awarded to Little Joe’s Asphalt, Inc. on March 15, 2011.  This milling and overlay project included a number of City residential streets.  The completed street mill and overlay sections were determined to be in generally fair to poor condition and deteriorated beyond the point at which cost-effective preventative maintenance techniques could be performed.

 

 

Project Funding.  The current contract amount is $474,189.94.  This project saw an overall increase of $15,267.86 over the awarded contract amount based on applied asphalt indexing as a result of increased costs in asphalt oil.

 

The contract amount will total $489,457.80.  The change order amount impacts the total contract amount but does not result in exceeding previously approved budget allocations.

 

 

Action Request.  Approve Change Order No. 1 & Final to Little Joe’s Asphalt, Inc. in the amount of $15,267.86.
